Reagan’s Room
The color in this room is Sherwin Williams “Haven”. Haven: a place of safety or refuge. Pre-pandemic, my oldest daughter (Reagan) had been asking (begging) for a room of her own. Her own space. Her place to retreat for quiet. And, quite honestly, a place to hide her toys and special items from her sisters. And I was pushing it off because I reaaalllllyyyy selfishly had this idea (dream) in my head of my older two girls sharing a room forever. Even though we had the extra bedroom.
And then this sweet girl’s world got flipped upside down (like the rest of ours). And she didn’t get to see her friends that she saw for almost 8 hours a day/5 days a week. And she didn’t get to see her teacher who was basically like a second mom (an angel on earth!). And it hurt her a lot. Which meant that I hurt for her. Which also meant that I took a hard look at my selfish ideas and shoved them in the trash where they belonged. So we talked about her room and we let her create the dream. And it was the outlet that she needed. It has become her refuge.
Stay tuned for updates with furniture and decor and a post detailing how we did the board and batten wall!
